I Can't Believe We Survived

...our first week and a half of teacher training! We've been having led Ashtanga classes every morning. In each class we've been going through the most minute of details for every single pose. To do this, we've had to hold each pose for sooooo looong. The first day was the worst, as we only got to parivritta parsvakonasana. This would normally only take about 25 minutes to do, but with all the descriptions and points to consider, it took us 2 hours. Mind you, we were holding the poses for all of the 2 hours, so it was really really hard. While we continued to do this for the rest of poses over the rest of the week, I do have to say that the first day was the hardest. Tomorrow we start Mysore practice and continue with the Philosophy and Anatomy classes.

Just to show you how full our schedule is, I've been waking up at about 5:30-6:00am every day. I do my morning routine then head down for an hour of pranayama practice. After that it's 2 hours of asana practice, brunch, 3-4 classes, dinner and I'm in bed by 9:00-9:30pm. It's a full day every day. We have Saturdays off and half-day off on Sundays which we use for Karma Yoga. It's a lot, to be honest, but it's wonderful. I really think I made the best decision ever when I decided to come here.
